Vinyl Flooring for Bathrooms FAQs
Why choose vinyl flooring for bathrooms?
Water-resistant, affordable, and low-maintenance, sheet vinyl for bathrooms is a great choice. It provides protection against spills and splashes, and it’s also easy to clean.
Vinyl comes in a wide range of finishes, allowing you to customise your space and achieve a stylish upgrade without the high cost.
Is bathroom sheet vinyl easy to install?
Yes! The process of installing bathroom sheet vinyl flooring is quick and simple, especially in small spaces.
For a professional finish expert installation is recommended. However if you’re thinking about taking it on as a DIY project, have a read of our guide on cutting vinyl around objects for some tips.
As well as being easy to install, it’s easy to repair vinyl flooring too. We have insights on how to make vinyl floors shine and how to remove stains from vinyl to help.
How to lay vinyl flooring in a bathroom?
To lay your bathroom vinyl, you’ll first need to carefully measure the space and cut it to fit the room’s dimensions. Don’t forget to ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level.
Next, secure the vinyl in place, pressing it down firmly and trimming neatly around objects like toilets or cabinets. Finally, seal any edges to protect against moisture damage.

Is sheet vinyl the same as lino?
No, while they are both resilient sheet flooring options, vinyl and lino differ in their composition. Lino is often made from natural materials such as cork dust, whereas sheet vinyl is synthetically made.
While lino is more eco-friendly, it’s less water-resistant than sheet vinyl and therefore not as commonly used in bathrooms.
