Why choose bathroom vinyl flooring?
Vinyl offers a range of benefits that make it a great option for bathrooms and wet rooms alike; these include:
- Waterproof and humidity resistant: Bathroom vinyl can cope with splashes and spills without damaging the floor, and moisture from hot showers won’t warp it either.
- Durability: It’s a hardwearing option for your bathroom, built to resist scratches, dents or stains.
- Safety features: Non-slip vinyl and safety vinyl have extra grip, giving you all-important protection against slips and falls.
- Comfortable underfoot: Unlike real tile or stone, bathroom vinyl is softer and warmer underfoot. Some styles are even compatible with underfloor heating.
- Easy to clean: Bathroom vinyl is very easy to maintain. The water dries up fast, and all it requires is regular sweeping and mopping.
- DIY installation: Vinyl flooring for bathrooms is quick and easy to lay. You can choose between loose lay and glue-down options.

Wood vinyl for the bathroom comes in various shades, such as brown, beige, black, and grey. Popular bathroom vinyl mimics wood species like ash, beech, oak, and pine. For more information, dive into our guide on .
Stone vinyl bathroom floors look just like real stone, such as marble, slate or concrete. These come in neutral shades including brown or grey, and you can find bolder hues like blue, green, orange or yellow. Bathroom vinyl sheet flooring also comes in mosaic or speckled designs, meaning you can create a stunning pattern on your floor.
Installing bathroom vinyl floors
Bathroom sheet vinyl is so easy to install you can do it yourself. How you lay the bathroom lino depends on the type you get; we have both loose lay and glue-down options here at Flooring King.
Loose lay vinyl is just as simple as laying down the floor along the wall and fitting each bathroom vinyl tile against the previous one. With glue down vinyl you use adhesive to lay down each tile.

Is sheet vinyl the same as lino?
No, while they are both resilient sheet flooring options, vinyl and lino differ in their composition. Lino is often made from natural materials such as cork dust, whereas sheet vinyl is synthetically made.
While lino is more eco-friendly, it’s less water-resistant than sheet vinyl and therefore not as commonly used in bathrooms.
