What is cushioned vinyl flooring?

Cushioned vinyl flooring is made of strong plastic that can withstand heavy foot traffic, but features a layer of extra padding on its underside. This removes the need for an underlay, and provides you with a more gentle underfoot feel than other vinyl floors.

How to clean cushion flooring

To clean cushioned vinyl, simply sweep or vacuum any loose dirt or debris, then use a damp mop with a suitable cleaning solution. Make sure your floors are fully dry before using them again, as wet vinyl floors can cause trips, slips, and other hazards.

Is cushioned vinyl flooring easy to install?

Compared to other flooring materials, vinyl is relatively straightforward to install, and the cushioning that comes with padded vinyl flooring means you won’t need to install any extra layers. Does cushioned vinyl need underlay?

What thickness is cushioned vinyl?

How thick cushioned vinyl flooring is depends on the manufacturer and the purpose it’s being used for. Commercial grade floors will tend to be thicker, while cushioned flooring in less-used areas will feature less padding. Typically, your padding will be between 2 and 4 millimetres.
