What is sheet vinyl flooring

A broad sheet covers a larger area between joins than a plank or tile format. Larger rooms may still need joined lengths, so the finished floor is not always one piece. The available roll width depends on the product.

Sheet vinyl includes designs for a quiet background as well as floors with a stronger pattern; a wood effect has printed grain and board lines, while stone-style vinyl can have the softer changes of tone you associate with mineral surfaces.

You can use a patterned floor beneath plain walls or choose a more even shade when your room already has patterned furnishings; the design is part of the sheet, so a printed tile effect does not have the same physical joints as separate ceramic tiles. That gives it a different surface feel.
