How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Island Oak is a Luxury Vinyl Tile built from rigid PVC. It’s fully waterproof, so it handles spills and steam without damage or swelling. The glue-down installation is straightforward and works over most existing floors.

Where it works

Island Oak suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways and living spaces. The waterproof core makes it ideal for wet areas, whilst the durable wear layer stands up to daily foot traffic. It’s also rated for light commercial settings like offices or small retail spaces.

Installation and heating

This is a glue-down plank, applied directly to your subfloor with adhesive. No underlay is needed. Island Oak works under underfloor heating, so you can add warmth without any fuss.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away and sweep or vacuum regularly. A damp mop works fine for deeper cleans. Island Oak carries a 25-year residential guarantee and 10-year commercial warranty, backing its durability in any setting.
