How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Almeria Black is a practical cushion vinyl that brings a classic dark finish to any room. The ceramic-style look sits well in modern schemes, whilst the cushioned backing underfoot gives real comfort and warmth. This is sheet vinyl that takes the wear and tear of busy homes and commercial settings without fuss.

The felt backing absorbs sound and impact, cutting vibration by 19dB, which matters in kitchens and hallways where footsteps carry. The 0.35mm wear layer sits above solid PVC, and the R10 anti-slip rating keeps you steady on wet tiles or spills. You can lay it loose or glue it down depending on your space and preference.

Where it works

Almeria Black suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways in family homes. It handles wetness without swelling or warping, and it’s tough enough for commercial settings like offices, retail and hospitality. The dark colour hides dirt well between cleans, and the slip resistance matters where water and spills are part of the day.

Installation

Lay it loose over a clean, level subfloor, or glue it down for a more permanent fix in heavy-traffic areas. The Tarkett Texstar range works with underfloor heating systems, so warm floors are on the table. No underlay is needed underneath.

Looking after it

Wipe spills as they happen and sweep or vacuum regularly to keep grit from embedding in the felt. A damp mop keeps it clean without soaking the seams. Tarkett back this product with a 15-year warranty against wear and defects, giving you solid peace of mind.
