How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Cheviot 01043 is a medium red, plain nylon carpet tile built for busy commercial spaces. It sits somewhere between a practical neutral and a confident accent, fitting easily into office schemes without demanding attention. You get a loop pile in red that wears well and hides foot traffic, paired with a solid bitumen backing.

What you get

500mm x 500mm tiles, 5.5mm thick
16 tiles per pack, covering 4 square metres
470g/m2 pile weight for durability
22dB sound insulation to cut office noise
Nylon face with bitumen backing
Glue-down installation

The tile absorbs sound well at 22dB, which matters in open-plan offices and meeting spaces where quiet counts. The loop pile resists wear and keeps its colour even under regular foot traffic. If you’re planning underfloor heating, this tile works with it.

Where it works

Cheviot 01043 suits offices, reception areas, meeting rooms and other commercial interiors. The red tone adds warmth without overwhelming the space. Not suitable for wet areas like bathrooms or kitchens.

Installation and care

Tiles glue down to a clean, flat subfloor. Once laid, they’re straightforward to maintain. Vacuum or sweep regularly. For marks and spills, spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The Gradus Latour 2 Carpet Tiles range comes with a 10-year commercial warranty against wear and staining.
