How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Newport-Oak is a light oak plank that brings real-wood warmth to rooms where durability and easy care matter most. The soft brown tone suits contemporary kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces alike. Unlike genuine timber, this PVC sheet vinyl needs no oiling, staining or refinishing, yet it holds its look through spills, mud and heavy foot traffic.

What it is

A glue-down sheet vinyl flooring made from tough PVC with a 0.7mm wear layer and 2mm total thickness. It sits flat and stable underfoot, with no expansion or contraction in damp rooms. The R10 anti-slip rating keeps grip where it matters.

Specifications

Total thickness: 2mm
Roll width: 2 metres
Roll length: 20 metres
Installation: Glue down
Anti-slip: R10

Where it works

Newport-Oak fits kitchens, bathrooms, offices, WCs and commercial vinyl flooring environments. Its waterproof backing and sealed surface make it ideal where moisture and spills are routine. The use classification of 23, 34 and 43 covers domestic living areas through to heavy commercial foot traffic.

Installation

This is a glue-down product, so you’ll need suitable adhesive and a straight edge to fit it properly. No underlay is needed. It suits underfloor heating systems, so you can lay it over warm floors without worry. The roll format means you can order the exact square meterage your room needs, with minimal waste.

Care and warranty

Wipe spills with a damp cloth and sweep or vacuum regularly. The waterproof PVC surface won’t stain or fade in normal use. Polyflor backs it with a full 10-year commercial warranty, giving you peace of mind in any setting.
