How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Lano Star Twist Supreme in Paloma is a warm, medium beige carpet that brings softness to any room. The twist pile holds its shape and resists marks, whilst the bleach-cleanable finish means spills and stains come out quickly. You get the look of a quality carpet without the panic every time someone walks in with muddy boots.

The polypropylene construction is naturally durable. It suits family homes, busy hallways and stairs where traffic is constant. Combined with the twist pile structure, it bounces back to shape after footfall, keeping the surface fresh-looking even in high-use areas.

Specifications

Pile height: 8.5mm
Total thickness: 10mm
Pile weight: 1360g/m²
Material: Polypropylene
Backing: Dual backing
Use classification: 23 (suitable for domestic use)
Installation: Gripper system

This is one of our Lano carpets, and the polypropylene construction makes it practical as well as warm underfoot. Unlike wool or natural blends, polypropylene carpets shed less and hold colour well in sunlight.

Where it works

Paloma fits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, halls and landings. It’s equally at home on stairs, where the twist pile grips securely and the dense weave resists wear. It is compatible with underfloor heating, so you can add warmth without compromise.

Installation and care

The carpet uses a gripper system for fitting and requires a quality underlay. Once down, keep it clean with a regular vacuum. The bleach-cleanable finish means you can tackle stains with diluted bleach solutions on most spills, then rinse thoroughly. For tougher marks, a damp cloth works well. Lano backs this product with a 10-year warranty, giving you confidence in the investment.
