How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Vanguard Sumptuous in Pumice Grey is a dark, neutral Saxony carpet built for homes where spills happen. The pile stands at 13.5mm and weighs 2460g/m2, giving it a soft, deep tread underfoot. What sets it apart is the bleach cleanable finish: red wine, mud, pet accidents, the lot. You can tackle stains with bleach or standard carpet cleaners without fear of colour loss or damage.

Why this carpet works

The dark grey tone masks everyday marks and doesn’t show footprints the way lighter shades do. This polypropylene Saxony sits well in family homes, especially where you need to keep costs sensible without cutting corners on clean-ability. Bleach Cleanable Carpets from Vanguard Carpets bring peace of mind to bedrooms, dining rooms, halls, landings and living spaces.

Installation and underlay

Vanguard Sumptuous fits via gripper installation. You will need underlay beneath it. The carpet works with underfloor heating if your home has it, so you are not locked out of modern heating systems.

Looking after it

Vacuum regularly to lift dust and debris. For spills, blot first then use a bleach-based cleaner or your usual carpet shampoo. The bleach cleanable finish means you are not restricted to mild treatments. For a full refresh, hire a professional carpet cleaner. Vanguard Sumptuous comes with a 7-year warranty.
