How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Balta Sublime Riverbank is a medium grey Saxony carpet that brings quiet, neutral warmth to any room. The gentle pile sits at 13mm, deep enough to feel soft underfoot yet practical for everyday living. Its polypropylene construction keeps it light and easy to manage, whilst the dual backing adds stability and grip underfoot.

What sets Riverbank apart is its bleach-cleanable finish. Spilled wine, dropped fruit, muddy footprints on stairs, dog accidents in the hall. Treat it with a diluted bleach solution and it cleans away without fading or damage. That’s genuine peace of mind in a family home or rental property.

Where it works

Carpet like Riverbank suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and landings. Its tough construction and bleach-cleanable surface make it especially valuable in busy family homes, stairs and rental properties where durability and cleanability matter. Whilst not waterproof, it handles the spills and traffic of daily life.

Installation and maintenance

Riverbank is fitted using the gripper method, which requires underlay and creates a professional, secure finish. The underlay also adds comfort and helps the pile last longer. To keep it clean, vacuum regularly and treat any spills with cold water first. For marks and stains, a diluted bleach solution works without affecting colour or pile. The Balta Carpets Sublime range includes a 10-year guarantee for added assurance.
