How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. View Full Specs

Vanguard Emperor in Caramel Cream is a medium beige twist carpet that brings warmth and easy care to any home. The 10mm pile gives underfoot softness without the fuss of wool, and this polypropylene carpet can be cleaned with bleach, making it ideal for households with children, pets or high traffic.

The plain weave sits at 2060g/m2 density, with a total thickness of 12mm when laid. It sits in the mid-range of the Vanguard Emperor collection and fits classification 23 for domestic use. Gripper fitting means it’s straightforward to install and, if you want to, you can run underfloor heating beneath it.

Where it works

Vanguard Emperor suits bedrooms, dining rooms, halls, landings and stairs, and living rooms. The stain-resistant finish and bleach-cleanable surface mean spills are simple to deal with, and a secondary backing keeps it stable underfoot. Since carpet of this weight and twist pile can take the everyday wear of busy households, Caramel Cream is a practical choice for family spaces.

Installation and care

Lay it on gripper rails with a good-quality underlay, which is required to protect the backing and support the pile. The bleach-cleanable spec means you can tackle marks directly, and the stain resistance handles most spills without setting. Vanguard backs this with a 10-year warranty.
