How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Vanguard Villamoura in Biscuit is a soft, medium-beige twist pile carpet that works well in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, hallways and landings. The polypropylene pile sits at 13mm high on a 15mm total thickness, giving it a comfortable feel underfoot without bulk. What sets it apart is the bleach-cleanable finish. Spills and stains on this carpet respond to standard household bleach, which means you can tackle marks that would otherwise need professional cleaning.

The pile weighs 1480g per square metre, a density that balances softness with durability. Vanguard Villamoura carpet comes with a secondary backing and is fitted using the gripper method, so underlay is essential and should be chosen to suit your needs. The carpet sits comfortably over underfloor heating systems, so warm floors are not a problem.

Stain resistance runs through the material itself, not just as a surface coat. This means the protection lasts, even where the pile gets worn. Family households, rental properties and busy spaces benefit from this combination: soft enough for comfort, tough enough for real use, and cleanable in ways that most carpets simply are not.

Vanguard back this product with a 10-year warranty. It is rated for standard domestic use (classification 23). For a range of warm, practical carpet choices, browse the full Vanguard Villamoura carpet collection or explore the wider Vanguard Carpets range.
