How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Balta Gala Granite is a dark grey carpet built for real life. Its plain loop pile sits at 5mm with a substantial 850g/m2 weight, making it dense and resilient. The bleach-cleanable surface means you can tackle spills and marks without fussing, and the stain-resistant finish helps keep it looking fresh even in high-traffic zones.

Made from polypropylene with a felt backing, this carpet has the softness underfoot you’d want in a bedroom or living room, whilst staying tough enough for halls and stairs. It’s gripped down during installation, so you’ll need underlay beneath it for comfort and sound dampening.

What it covers

Pile weight: 850g/m2
Pile height: 5mm
Thickness: 9mm
Material: Polypropylene
Backing: Secondary felt back
Roll length: 30 metres
Installation: Gripper method (underlay required)

Where it works

The Balta Gala carpet suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, halls and landing areas. It’s classified as use grade 22, so it handles normal domestic traffic well. The Bleach Cleanable Carpets range means this is a smart pick for families with pets or children, or anywhere spills need swift action.

Keeping it clean

Vacuum regularly to lift dust and debris. The bleach-cleanable quality lets you use dilute bleach on stubborn marks, making it far easier to refresh than standard carpet. Blot fresh spills quickly and treat stains promptly. Underfloor heating is not compatible with this product.
