How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Where it works

Supacord Onyx suits offices, call centres, breakout spaces and other medium-traffic commercial areas. If you’re fitting Carpet Tiles across a busy commercial building, modular installation means you can replace worn sections without re-laying the whole floor. The dark shade hides marks well, a real plus in high-footfall zones. Heckmondwike Carpet Tiles are a standard choice for this reason.

Installation

These tiles come with bitumen backing and sit flat after standard trowel application. The 500 x 500mm format makes layout straightforward, and no seaming is needed. Supacord Onyx works with underfloor heating systems, so you can warm commercial spaces without compromising the floor.

Looking after it

Regular vacuuming keeps these tiles fresh. Spot-clean spills promptly to prevent staining on the dark pile. Heckmondwike backs Supacord Onyx with a 15-year commercial warranty, giving you long-term confidence in high-traffic settings.
