How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Heckmondwike Broadrib Astra is a practical blue carpet tile designed for busy commercial spaces. The medium blue shade works well in offices, retail areas and light-traffic commercial settings where you need flooring that performs and looks fresh. It’s a plain weave, so it keeps a clean line and won’t show dust or dirt marks.

Broadrib tiles sit flat and stable thanks to their bitumen backing, and they handle everyday wear without fuss. The 7mm pile is substantial enough to feel underfoot whilst staying easy to clean and maintain. Each tile measures 500mm square and comes in packs of 20, giving you 5 square metres per pack. With a pile weight of 3,670g/m² and a Use Classification of 33, these tiles stand up to the demands of commercial environments where people move around all day.

What’s in the pack and how to fit

You get 20 tiles per pack. Installation is straightforward using the bitumen backing, and Broadrib tiles are compatible with underfloor heating, so you can warm your space without worrying about the flooring. These Carpet Tiles have been designed for stability and ease of laying.

Looking after it

Plain weave means less catching and snagging. Regular vacuuming keeps these tiles clean and fresh. Spot-clean spills quickly and you’ll avoid staining. Heckmondwike backs Broadrib Astra with a 15-year commercial warranty, so you can invest with confidence in a tile that’s built to last in a working environment.

Broadrib is part of the Heckmondwike Carpet Tiles collection, known for durability and straightforward performance in commercial spaces.
