How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. View Full Specs

Heckmondwike Broadrib Amethyst brings a rich dark blue to your office or commercial space. The plain weave cuts clutter and lets your design choices breathe, whilst the dense pile holds up under constant foot traffic. You get a practical floor that looks clean and put-together without fuss.

What you’re getting

500 x 500mm tiles, 7mm thick
Polyamide and polypropylene pile with recycled polyester content
3670g/m² pile weight for durability
20 tiles per pack, covering 5m²
Bitumen backing for grip and stability
Use Classification 33 (heavy commercial)
15-year commercial warranty

The dense construction means spills sit on the surface long enough for you to wipe them away. Amethyst suits any office colour scheme, from neutral desks to bold walls. Pair it with lighter accents and it grounds the space without dominating.

Where it fits

Heckmondwike Carpet Tiles in this range work hard in offices, corridors, reception areas and commercial break rooms. The classification handles consistent use and heavy footfall. You can also lay these over underfloor heating systems, so they fit retrofit projects too.

Installation and care

Lay them as gluedown tiles using the standard bitumen-backed method. No special tools needed. Vacuum regularly and spot-clean marks as they appear. The tight weave resists soiling, so your floor stays looking fresh longer. Carpet Tiles like Broadrib are quick to replace if one gets damaged, so you’re not ripping up the whole floor.
