How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

The Floor Hub Dahlia Cut brings durable, mid-tone grey to busy offices and commercial spaces. Its plain weave and 4.5mm cut pile create a clean, professional look that works hard without fuss. You get a practical tile that handles foot traffic and daily wear, backed by 10 years of cover.

Specifications

Material: Nylon
Pile: Cut
Pile height: 4.5mm
Thickness: 8mm
Pile weight: 4640g/m²
Size: 500mm x 500mm
Tiles per pack: 20 (covers 5m²)
Use classification: 33
Backing: Bitumen
Sound insulation: 25dB

The bitumen backing provides stability underfoot and helps keep noise down. At 25dB sound insulation, it softens footsteps and office chatter, making the space feel calmer. Use Classification 33 means it’s rated for heavy commercial use, so it’ll take what a busy office throws at it.

Where it works

Commercial Carpet Tiles like this suit offices, meeting rooms and high-traffic hallways. The Dahlia Cut also fits lighter commercial settings where durability and easy maintenance matter. Carpet Tiles give you the option to replace worn patches rather than the whole floor, which saves time and money in busy environments.

Installation and heating

Dahlia Cut works with underfloor heating, so you can install it over warm systems without worry. The tile format means you can fit sections quickly, making it ideal for offices that need minimal downtime during installation or refresh.

Looking after it

Nylon is easy to clean. Regular vacuuming keeps it fresh, and spot-cleaning tackles spills fast. The bitumen backing resists moisture, though the pile itself isn’t waterproof, so keep standing water away. You get a 10-year commercial warranty, giving you peace of mind on a long-term investment.
