How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Kepler is a light to medium grey loop pile carpet tile from The Floor Hub’s Transmission 2.0 range. The subtle pattern and neutral shade work well in modern offices and corporate spaces where you need flooring that doesn’t dominate the scheme. Loop pile holds its shape under foot traffic and resists marking, making it a practical choice for busy areas.

Specifications

Tile size: 500mm x 500mm
Pile: Loop, 1.7mm height
Thickness: 5mm total
Pile weight: 4140g/m²
Backing: Bitumen
Material: Nylon
Tiles per pack: 20 (covers 5m²)
Use classification: 33 (heavy commercial)
LRV: 10.5

Each pack contains 20 tiles and covers 5 square metres. The bitumen backing provides stability, and nylon pile delivers durability where people move through regularly.

Where it works

Kepler suits open-plan offices, meeting rooms, corridors and reception areas. Its use classification of 33 means it handles heavy foot traffic, making it fit for commercial carpet tiles in corporate and public buildings. The Floor Hub carpet tiles are also suitable for light retail and hospitality settings where durability matters but you want to keep costs down.

Installation and underfloor heating

These are carpet tiles, so they sit loose or can be glued down depending on your needs. The range supports underfloor heating, so you can use Kepler even if you have warm flooring fitted beneath.

Warranty and care

The Floor Hub backs Kepler with a 10-year commercial warranty, giving you solid peace of mind. Loop pile resists crushing, so regular vacuuming keeps it looking fresh. Spot-clean spills quickly and schedule professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months for high-traffic zones.
