How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Rustikal Oak Brushed brings genuine wood grain to your home without the upkeep of solid oak. The wide 185mm planks lay down in straight runs, letting the natural colour and brushed texture do the talking. Oiled to bring out the oak’s warmth, each board shows the variation you’d expect from real wood, with the grain left honest and unpretentious.

This is Parador Engineered Wood Flooring at its best. The 2.5mm wear layer sits on a stable multi-ply base, so it holds its shape underfoot and resists the knocks of daily life. You get click installation too, which means no adhesive mess and faster fitting than traditional methods.

Where it works

Fitted across bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, dining spaces, halls, offices and utility areas, Rustikal Oak handles most of your home. The Parador Basic 11-5 range suits varied schemes and ages of property, from period cottages to contemporary builds. It sits equally well with modern clean décor or traditional furnishings.

Installation

Click-lock connection means you simply slot the planks together. Fitting is fast and straightforward, with no glue required. Underfloor heating is supported, though you’ll want an underlay beneath to preserve comfort and protect your subfloor from moisture.

Looking after it

Oiled wood surfaces need gentle care. Vacuum or sweep regularly to clear dust and grit. Wipe spills promptly with a barely damp cloth. Avoid pooling water and harsh chemicals. The oiled finish ages naturally and can be refreshed if needed over time. Parador backs this floor with a 15-year warranty.
