How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. The colour brings warmth and brightness to any room whilst keeping practicality front and centre. It’s waterproof and slip-resistant (R9 rating), so you get a floor that handles splashes and wet areas without fuss.

At 2mm thick with a PVC backing, this Sheet Vinyl Flooring sits solidly underfoot and resists everyday wear. The speckled finish hides dust and small marks, and the yellow tone reads as bright without being harsh. An LRV of 58 means decent natural light reflection, useful in rooms where you want to lift the ambience.

It’s rated for both domestic and commercial use, so it takes the knocks of a busy family or a small business without flagging. If you prefer a more flexible installation, check out Loose Lay Sheet Vinyl alternatives.

Installation

This is a glue-down sheet, so you’ll need to fix it firmly to a clean, dry subfloor. Preparation matters here. Make sure your subfloor is level and free of dust or debris, and allow the adhesive to cure fully before use. Professional fitting is recommended to keep the sheets flat and seams tight.

Looking after it

Day-to-day care is straightforward. Wipe spills quickly, sweep or vacuum regularly, and mop with a damp (not soaking) cloth and a mild detergent. The waterproof finish means you can be confident in wet areas. Polyflor backs this product with a 10-year commercial warranty, giving you real peace of mind on durability and performance.
