How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. The Floor Hub Prism in Moss is a medium green, plain-weave carpet tile built for offices and commercial settings. The nylon loop pile delivers a neat, uniform surface that takes foot traffic and bounces back. Its subtle colour works well in professional spaces where you want durability without fuss.

Specifications

Colour: Medium moss green
Material: 100% nylon loop pile
Pile height: 5mm
Total thickness: 8mm
Pile weight: 4650g/m²
Tile size: 500 x 500mm
Pack size: 20 tiles (5m²)
Backing: Bitumen
Use classification: 32 (heavy commercial)
Sound insulation: 28dB

Carpet tiles like the Prism suit offices, call centres and other commercial spaces where you need to replace worn areas without lifting the whole floor. Moss green blends into most colour schemes. The loop pile resists crushing and matting, keeping its grip underfoot even in high-footfall zones.

Installation is straightforward. Tiles stick down or sit loose on a level subfloor. The bitumen backing gives grip and prevents shifting. Carpet tiles for offices often work over underfloor heating systems, and Prism is compatible here too.

Looking after it is simple. Vacuum regularly to lift dirt before it settles into the pile. For spots, blot with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. The Prism carries a 10-year commercial warranty, so you know it’s built to last in a working environment.
