How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Subra is a dark, medium grey from The Floor Hub Transmission 2.0 range, designed to work in high-traffic commercial spaces. The loop pile construction in nylon holds up under constant footfall while the subtle pattern helps mask wear and soiling over time. It’s a practical choice for offices and commercial environments where you need carpet that keeps its composure.

Specifications

Tile size: 500mm x 500mm
Pile: Loop, 1.7mm height
Thickness: 5mm overall
Pile weight: 4140g/m2
Backing: Bitumen
Material: Nylon
Pack: 20 tiles (5m2 coverage)
Use classification: 33 (commercial)

Each pack covers 5 square metres and ships as fast delivery. The bitumen backing provides stability underfoot, and you can lay Subra over underfloor heating systems without worry.

Where it works

Carpet Tiles for Offices and light commercial settings handle heavy daily use. The low light reflectance value (LRV 4.5) gives a dark, grounded look that suits modern office schemes. Carpet Tiles are ideal for spaces where sections might need replacing without a full refurbishment.

Installation and care

These tiles fix to the floor with adhesive, using the bitumen backing for grip and durability. Underfloor heating compatibility means you can install them in temperature-controlled spaces. Routine vacuuming keeps Subra fresh, and individual tiles can be lifted and swapped if stains or damage appear in high-wear zones.

The Floor Hub backs Subra with a 10-year commercial warranty, giving you confidence in its longevity and performance in demanding work environments.
