How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. R11 Slip Rating

Altro Aquarius Iguana is a medium beige, speckled sheet vinyl that keeps people safe on wet floors. The R11 anti-slip rating works underfoot, whether you’re dealing with splashes in a kitchen, moisture in a bathroom, or the cut and thrust of a busy commercial space. It’s a no-nonsense choice.

The vinyl is fully waterproof. Moisture and spills won’t penetrate it or damage the substrate below. In practical terms, you can take your mop to it without worry, and it’ll perform well in spaces where water is part of the daily routine.

Where it works

This sheet vinyl suits kitchens, bathrooms and WCs in homes and commercial settings alike. Because it sits in Altro Aquarius, a range built for safety-critical spaces, it’s at home in care facilities, leisure centres, and food-prep areas where slip resistance matters.

Installation and underfloor heating

The vinyl is glued down to a prepared subfloor. It doesn’t need underlay underneath, which keeps the job straightforward. If your property has underfloor heating, you can install it over warm systems without issue. Just let the heating settle before you fit it.

Looking after it

Maintenance is simple. Damp mop or vacuum it regularly. The waterproof surface shrugs off kitchen spills and bathroom splashes. It won’t stain, swell or rot. Over time, heavy-traffic zones may show wear, but the vinyl stays protective and easy to clean. The 10-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Beige speckled safety vinyl with R11 slip resistance, waterproof and ideal for wet rooms and commercial kitchens.
