How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Aida Oak brings warmth to any room with its natural grain and soft, neutral tone. The herringbone layout creates visual flow without fuss, whilst the registered emboss texture gives it depth and a real-wood feel underfoot.

This is laminate that stands up to life. Water resistant, with an HDF core and 10mm thickness, it handles spills and moisture far better than traditional wood. The micro bevelled edge adds definition to each plank and catches light gently.

Where it works

The herringbone pattern suits living rooms and open-plan spaces where the layout draws the eye across the floor. AC6 rating means it handles kitchens and hallways with ease, plus light commercial settings. Water resistance makes it practical for utility areas and bathrooms where spills happen.

Installation

Click together, glueless system for straightforward fitting. Suitable for standard substrates. Underfloor heating compatible, though a thermal barrier is advised.

Looking after it

Sweep and vacuum as normal. Wipe up spills promptly. Avoid standing water and excessive moisture. A damp mop with a laminate-specific cleaner keeps it fresh. The Alsa Flooring Allure range carries a 35-year residential warranty and the same 35-year commercial guarantee, so it’s built to last.
