How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Tunis Oak 907 brings a warm, sophisticated look to any room. The herringbone pattern lends visual depth and movement, whilst the micro bevelled edges add a classic line that catches the light. The registered emboss texture mimics real oak grain, giving you the authentic wood feel without the maintenance demands of solid flooring.

Alsa Flooring Allure is built for real life. This is water-resistant laminate flooring rated AC6, which means it holds its own in busy family homes and light commercial settings alike. The HDF core is tough, and the 10mm thickness sits comfortably underfoot.

Specifications

Thickness: 10mm HDF
Plank size: 644mm long, 143mm wide
Pack coverage: 1.473 m2 (16 planks per pack)
Pack weight: 13.50 kg
Edge detail: Micro bevelled
Texture: Registered emboss
Wear rating: AC6 (heavy domestic and light commercial)
Water resistance: Yes

Herringbone layouts demand precision, but once laid, this pattern earns its place. Each plank sits at 45 degrees to its neighbour, creating a visual rhythm that makes spaces feel larger and more dynamic than straight boards allow.

Where it works

Tunis Oak suits living rooms, dining areas and hallways where you want impact without fuss. It’s water-resistant enough for kitchens, and the AC6 rating means it can handle light commercial foot traffic too, making it a solid choice for cafes or small shops alongside your home.

Installation

Herringbone boards click together for a straightforward fit. No glue required. Lay it over a smooth subfloor and add underfloor heating if you like; this laminate is compatible.

Looking after it

Wipe up spills quickly and vacuum or sweep regularly. Avoid standing water and steam mops. Alsa Flooring backs this flooring with a 35-year warranty, domestic and commercial.
