How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Altro Aquarius Swan is a light, speckled white safety sheet vinyl that brings practical protection to wet areas without fuss. The subtle fleck pattern masks marks and adds texture, whilst the R11 anti-slip rating keeps it safe underfoot when floors are wet. At 2mm thick, it sits firmly once glued down and handles the daily grind of busy kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces.

This is a waterproof vinyl, so moisture simply runs off rather than soaking in. That makes it ideal for washdown areas and splashy family bathrooms. The scrim backing gives it stability during installation and aids underfloor heating compatibility, letting you add warmth without fuss.

Installation

This vinyl is glued down using an appropriate flooring adhesive. No underlay is needed. The scrim backing means it works with underfloor heating systems, so you can pair it with warm feet underfoot and safe footing on top.
