How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Cotton Twist is a light to medium grey safety sheet vinyl with a subtle crosshatch surface that grips underfoot. The 2.4mm PVC construction combines a 0.7mm wear layer with waterproof protection, making it tough enough for kitchens, bathrooms and busy commercial spaces. Loose lay fitting means no adhesive and no mess – just roll it out, and it stays put.

The Altro Illustra Adhesive Free range brings professional-grade slip resistance to your home. Cotton Twist carries an R10 anti-slip rating, so you can trust it on wet floors. Its 2m roll width comes in 20-metre lengths, making it straightforward to fit across larger areas without joins where they matter.

Underfloor heating? Cotton Twist works with it. There’s no underlay required, and the material handles temperature changes without warping or cracking. Sound insulation of 14dB keeps noise down, a real benefit in flats or open-plan homes.

Cotton Twist suits bathrooms, kitchens, WCs and commercial settings like care homes, offices and retail spaces. The waterproof finish and slip resistance make it ideal anywhere moisture and safety are priorities. Altro Vinyl Flooring brings medical-grade durability to everyday rooms.

Installation

Loose lay fitting means you simply unroll the vinyl and leave it – no gluing, no primer, no fuss. If you’re moving house or redecorating, you can lift it up and take it with you. Underfloor heating systems work without issue.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth. For regular cleaning, sweep or vacuum, then mop with a mild detergent solution. Cotton Twist stands up to heavy footfall and scrubbing without staining or fading. Altro backs it with a 10-year warranty.
