How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Dusky Grit delivers a soft grey speckled finish that suits contemporary and traditional kitchens alike. The subtle texture disguises dirt and water marks, so it looks fresh between cleans. Unlike traditional vinyl, this loose lay sheet needs no adhesive, making it simple to fit and easy to replace if needed.

The real draw here is safety and practicality. An R10 anti-slip rating keeps you secure on damp floors. Waterproof right through, it handles splashes, spills and steam without buckling or staining. Sound insulation of 14dB helps dampen footfall noise in busy rooms. At 2.4mm thick with a 0.7mm wear layer, it stands up to regular traffic in commercial kitchens, restaurants and staff facilities as well as home use.

Installation

Loose lay fitting means no glue, no mess. Roll it out, trim to fit and you’re done. The flooring sits flat on your subfloor without adhesive. Underfloor heating works fine with this product, so you can add warmth beneath if your home has a system already.

Looking after it

Maintenance is straightforward. Sweep or vacuum to lift grit, then mop with warm soapy water. The waterproof surface resists stains and spills. Altro Vinyl Flooring ranges are designed to keep their grip and colour with minimal fuss. A 10-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, giving you confidence in the fit.
