How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Stepping Stone is a light beige sheet vinyl with a soft concrete look. It brings understated warmth to bathrooms, kitchens and commercial spaces without fuss. The colour sits between neutral and natural, so it pairs well with most schemes and doesn’t show dirt easily.

The real advantage is safety and practicality. An R10 anti-slip rating means good grip even when wet, which matters in bathrooms and kitchens where spills happen. The vinyl is fully waterproof, so moisture won’t damage it. You lay it as Loose Lay Sheet Vinyl, meaning no adhesive, no mess, and no need for underlay. Just unroll and go. If you have underfloor heating, it works with that too.

Where it works

Bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, WCs and light commercial settings all suit this vinyl. The waterproof finish and anti-slip surface handle wet areas and busy spaces.

Installation

Loose lay installation means you simply unroll it into place. No adhesive needed. The vinyl works on most subfloors and is compatible with underfloor heating systems, so you can add warmth without any fuss.

Looking after it

Wipe up spills straight away and sweep or vacuum regularly. For deeper cleaning, use a damp mop with mild detergent. The waterproof surface resists stains and moisture damage. Part of the Altro Illustra Adhesive Free range, this vinyl comes with a 10-year warranty.
