How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Tranquil Twist is a medium grey safety vinyl sheet with a subtle crosshatch texture that suits modern kitchens, bathrooms and commercial settings. The soft tone pairs well with neutral or cool-toned schemes without showing every mark. You get a waterproof finish, R10 anti-slip grip and genuine peace of mind in wet zones or high-traffic areas where slip resistance matters.

This is part of the Altro Illustra Adhesive Free range, which means it arrives ready to fit. No glue, no messy application, no adhesive fumes. The vinyl sits loose on your subfloor and stays put thanks to its weight and texture. That also makes it simpler to lift and adjust during fitting, or to remove and replace later if needed.

Where it works

Tranquil Twist suits bathrooms, kitchens, toilets and light commercial spaces. The R10 anti-slip grip handles busy, damp environments. Sheet vinyl flooring like this is also ideal if you need sound damping in flats or offices. The waterproof core means spills won’t seep through, and the crosshatch finish hides dust and dirt between cleans.

Installation

Tranquil Twist is loose-lay fitted. Simply unroll it across your subfloor and trim to fit. No adhesive is required, and no underlay is needed. The vinyl sits firmly on its own weight. It works over most level, dry substrates, and you can install it over underfloor heating systems without issue.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth. For regular cleaning, use a soft mop and warm water with a touch of mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive scrubbers, which can dull the surface. The waterproof core protects the base, and the durable wear layer resists scuffs and stains. Altro back this product with a 10-year guarantee against defects in materials and manufacturing.
