How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Altro Xpresslay Black is a slip-resistant sheet vinyl built for wet rooms and commercial settings. Its dark speckled finish hides marks and suits most interiors, whilst the R10 anti-slip rating keeps users safe on damp floors. The vinyl sits flat loose lay, so no adhesive or underlay is needed, cutting both time and cost on fitting.

The 2.2mm thickness combines durability with comfort underfoot. Sound insulation of 7dB helps dampen noise in busy kitchens or bathrooms. You can lay it over underfloor heating without worry, and it stands up to everyday spills and cleaning without fading or warping.

Where it works

Kitchens, bathrooms, WCs and commercial spaces all suit Altro Xpresslay Black. Its Sheet Vinyl Flooring construction handles moisture and high footfall, making it a practical choice for care homes, offices, leisure centres and retail areas as well as your home. Choose Loose Lay Sheet Vinyl when you want speed and flexibility on the fit.

Fitting and care

Unroll, position, and you are done. No glue, no underlay. Just trim to fit and butt edges together. You can install it over underfloor heating without any fuss.

Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth. A mild detergent works for stubborn marks. Avoid abrasive cleaners and standing water. The 10-year guarantee covers defects in the vinyl itself, giving you peace of mind.
