How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Altro Xpresslay Blue is a speckled, medium-toned safety sheet vinyl that brings slip resistance and durability to kitchens, bathrooms and commercial areas. The R10 anti-slip rating means wet floors stay secure underfoot, and the waterproof coating stops spills and moisture soaking through. You get a real-world flooring solution for rooms where grip and protection matter.

At 2.2mm thick with a PVC backing, it’s built to take everyday wear. The blue speckled finish hides dirt well and suits both modern and practical schemes. Install it loose lay, with no underlay needed, and it works with underfloor heating systems too.

Where it works

Altro Xpresslay flooring suits bathrooms, kitchens, WCs and commercial settings where water and foot traffic demand a tough, slip-resistant floor. The R10 rating keeps it safe in wet conditions, making it a popular choice for care facilities, hospitality and busy family homes.

Installation

Loose lay installation means no adhesive or underlay is required. Simply unroll and position. The flooring sits flat on most subfloors and is ready for use, making it quick to fit and straightforward to replace if needed.

Looking after it

Waterproof Sheet Vinyl Flooring is easy to maintain. Wipe down with a damp mop and mild detergent, and dry off standing water to keep the finish looking fresh. The blue speckled surface conceals everyday marks well. A 10-year warranty covers manufacturing faults, giving you peace of mind on your investment.
