How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Lupin is a medium blue speckled sheet vinyl that combines safety with everyday practicality. Its R10 anti-slip rating makes it a solid choice for wet areas where grip matters. The waterproof PVC surface shrugs off spills and moisture without fuss, keeping your floor protected and easy to clean.

Altro Xpresslay flooring is built tough. Lupin sits at 2.2mm thick with a PVC backing, rated for both domestic and commercial use (Class 34 and Class 43). It reduces sound too, cutting 7dB to help dampen footsteps and impact noise.

Where it works

Lupin suits kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms and commercial spaces like offices or retail areas. The slip resistance and water resistance make it reliable underfoot in busier settings and around moisture. It handles underfloor heating without issue, and no underlay is needed for installation, which keeps fitting straightforward.

Installation

Lupin uses loose lay installation, the simplest method for Sheet Vinyl Flooring. There’s no adhesive required, and the flooring sits flat on any sound, level subfloor. It’s compatible with underfloor heating systems if you have them.

Looking after it

Day-to-day care is minimal. Simply sweep or vacuum regularly, then mop with a damp cloth and mild soap when needed. The waterproof surface resists stains and moisture, and the 10-year warranty gives you peace of mind. Busy household, wet spills, the lot, Lupin handles it all.
