How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Click joints make installation swift, and the engineered build tolerates underfloor heating systems, so you can add warmth to bedrooms or living spaces without worry. It floats over existing floors with underlay, cutting out fitting time on substrates from concrete to timber.

Where it works

Amber Trail suits bedrooms, living rooms, halls and kitchens alike, with the rustic grade lending character to any scheme. Dining rooms, offices and utility rooms all take it well. Engineered wood flooring for the living room demands durability alongside good looks; this delivers both. Real oak wood flooring ranges from sleek and pale to deep and rich. Amber Trail sits in the warmer middle, smoked and textured, so it pairs with modern interiors, period cottages or transitional schemes with equal ease.

Installation

The click floating method means no glue, no nails, no mess. Lay it straight over a levelled subfloor with underlay underneath. 14mm engineered wood flooring offers a thicker plank for those after extra depth; this 15mm build gives you that solid feel underfoot. Compatible with underfloor heating systems up to 27°C surface temperature, so you can install it over a warm system with confidence.

Looking after it

The oiled finish needs the occasional refresh with a specialist oil, but day-to-day it just needs a dry sweep and a damp mop. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for long periods. The floor is not waterproof, so it’s not suited to wet rooms or unventilated bathrooms. Avesso backs it with a 25-year warranty against manufacturing faults, giving you solid peace of mind.
