How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Classic Reserve brings the warmth of real oak into your home without the maintenance load of solid wood. This 14mm engineered wood flooring has a genuine 3mm oak wear layer over a multi-ply base, giving you authentic grain and colour variation with the stability of engineered construction. The rustic grade shows knots and character marks, creating a lived-in, natural look that suits period and contemporary spaces alike.

The oiled finish softens the grain and deepens the colour, whilst protecting the surface from everyday wear. Each plank runs 1900mm long by 190mm wide, creating generous proportions that make rooms feel bigger. The real oak wood flooring works beautifully in kitchens, dining rooms, hallways, bedrooms, living spaces and home offices, and can handle utility areas too.

Installation suits your needs. Choose between floating, nailed or glued down using the tongue and groove edges. Engineered wood flooring of this type works with underfloor heating, so you can keep your home warm without compromising the floor. Underlay is optional if you go for floating installation.
