How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Soft Blonde is a light oak in a striking herringbone pattern that brings a sense of order and style to any room. The 125mm x 600mm planks lock together in a diagonal weave, creating visual movement and depth across your floor. It’s engineered oak, so you get a real-wood look with the stability of a multi-ply base, and the oiled finish sits warm and tactile underfoot.

The herringbone layout suits contemporary and period homes alike. It works in Engineered Wood Flooring for the Living Room, Engineered Wood Flooring for Kitchens, bedrooms, dining areas and Engineered Wood Flooring for Hallways, plus offices and utility rooms. It’s not waterproof, so keep it away from wet areas.

Specifications

15mm thick with a 4mm wear layer
125mm wide, 600mm long
16 planks per 1.2 m2 pack

Installation is straightforward. You can nail it down or glue it, whichever suits your subfloor. It’s compatible with underfloor heating, so you can use it over a warm system. Underlay is optional but recommended for comfort and noise reduction.

The oiled finish needs basic care, regular sweeping and the odd damp mop. Avoid standing water and direct heat sources. Avesso backs this floor with a 25-year warranty, giving you real peace of mind.
