Avesso Design Soft Grey

Avesso Soft Grey is a contemporary take on real oak wood flooring. The pale grey tone sits between natural oak and steel, suiting both modern minimalist rooms and period homes with character. It pairs well with light walls, dark furniture or mixed greys elsewhere in the space. The lacquered finish protects the grain without looking plastic, and the bevelled edges catch light to add depth.

Herringbone engineered wood flooring demands precision in layout but rewards you with a visual complexity that single-plank ranges cannot match. The 180mm length and 350mm width create a classic diagonal chevron that draws the eye. For a herringbone pattern to succeed, the wood needs to be stable, and Avesso achieves this through its engineered multi-ply construction with a 6mm wear layer and tongue-and-groove edges.

Where it works

Soft Grey suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and offices. It is equally at home in engineered wood flooring for kitchens, where the sealed lacquered surface protects against spills. Utility rooms and other domestic spaces also benefit from its durability and neutral tone. It is not waterproof, so bathrooms require careful thought.

Installation and heating

Soft Grey can be nailed or glued down. The tongue-and-groove joints lock planks together, making both methods straightforward for a fitter with the right tools. It is compatible with underfloor heating, so you can install it over a warm floor if your home has it. Underlay is optional, though it can reduce noise and improve comfort underfoot.

Looking after it and guarantee

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit. Wipe spills at once with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a wood-floor cleaner diluted with water, never neat liquid. Avoid prolonged exposure to standing water. Avesso backs Soft Grey with a 25-year warranty.
