How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Avesso Design Warm Oak Tone brings a classic herringbone pattern to your home in a natural, oiled finish. The warm oak hue suits living rooms, dining spaces and kitchens equally well, whilst the bevelled edges and rustic wood grade add depth and texture. You get the appeal of real oak wood without the maintenance demands of solid timber.

This is real oak wood flooring built on an engineered multi-ply base. The 4mm wear layer handles daily wear, and the tongue & groove joints lock together securely. Each plank is 125mm wide and 600mm long, so the herringbone pattern flows naturally across the floor. One pack covers 1.2m2 and contains 16 planks.

Engineered wood flooring for kitchens needs to handle moisture and traffic. This product is rated for bedrooms, dining rooms, halls, kitchens, living rooms, offices and utility rooms. It is not waterproof, so protect it from standing water and spills. Underfloor heating is compatible, though underlay is optional.

Installation is nailed or glued down. The tongue & groove system keeps planks aligned, and the glue-down method works well on concrete or existing floors. Once fitted, the oiled finish means occasional wiping and dusting keep it clean. Unlike solid wood, you avoid sanding and refinishing. Avesso backs this floor with a 25-year warranty, giving you peace of mind across its life.
