How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Balta Sublime in Mocha Cream is a warm beige carpet that works in bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways. The soft, medium-toned colour suits traditional and contemporary schemes alike. Its 13mm Saxony pile feels plush underfoot while staying practical for everyday wear.

What sets this carpet apart is its bleach cleanable finish. Spill wine, mud or pet mess and you can tackle it head-on with dilute bleach, rather than watching the stain set. This makes it ideal for families, busy households and anyone who values a carpet that can take real-world knocks. Browse bleach cleanable carpets to compare other options.

The pile is polypropylene with a dual backing for stability and durability. Pile weight sits at 2400g per square metre, giving it substance and resilience in living spaces, on stairs and in landings. It’s rated for domestic use and carries a 10-year warranty for peace of mind.

Where it works

Mocha Cream suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and stairs. Its domestic use classification means it performs well in homes with moderate to high foot traffic. The bleach cleanable feature makes it especially valuable in family spaces where accidents happen.

Installation

This carpet uses gripper rod fitting, the standard method for domestic carpet installation. Underlay is required. The carpet is compatible with underfloor heating systems, so you can install it over warm floors without issue.

Looking after it

Regular vacuuming keeps it clean. For spills and stains, you can use dilute bleach solution, which is the carpet’s defining strength. For other marks, treat with a standard carpet cleaner. The 10-year warranty covers normal domestic use.
