How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Condor Lazio Heather in Waffle is a warm, neutral carpet that sits at the crossroads of style and practicality. The subtle beige and brown tones work in almost any room, from living spaces to hallways. Its soft cut pile feels underfoot without the maintenance headache of natural fibres. The real draw is the bleach cleanable finish, which means spills and stains don’t have to become permanent marks.

At 8mm pile height and 10mm overall thickness, this carpet offers comfort without excess bulk. It weighs 740g/m² and rolls 30 metres wide, so your fitter can minimise joins in larger rooms. The polypropylene pile sits on a secondary backing, durable enough for regular family use.

Where it works

This carpet suits bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms, halls and landings. Use Classification 23 means it’s at home in residential and light commercial settings. It’s not suitable for underfloor heating, so check your existing setup before ordering. Bleach Cleanable Carpets like this one are built for messy life: pets, children, the lot.

Installation

Gripper installation, the traditional method, holds the carpet edges and keeps them taut over time. Underlay is required and will improve both comfort and the carpet’s lifespan. Your fitter will handle this during fitting.

Looking after it

Regular vacuuming keeps it looking fresh. The bleach-cleanable feature is a game-changer for stubborn marks, though always test on a hidden area first and follow product guidance. Carpet with this finish forgives the mess that other options won’t. A 7-year warranty backs the quality, giving you peace of mind.
