How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Wood Esterel Chocolate 0518 is a dark brown plank-effect sheet vinyl that brings real wood warmth to wet rooms and busy spaces. The colour sits between medium and dark tones, suiting both modern and traditional kitchens. You get the look of timber without the maintenance burden, and the R11 anti-slip finish keeps everyone safe on damp floors.

This Gerflor Vinyl Flooring sheet is 2mm thick with a 0.7mm wear layer, built to take daily foot traffic and spills in stride. The PVC backing sits on top of your existing floor with no underlay needed. Waterproof through and through, it shrugs off splashes, steam and standing water.

Where it works

Kitchens and bathrooms are where this flooring shines. The waterproof core and slip-resistant surface handle commercial kitchens and busy care homes just as well. Fit it in toilets, wet rooms and anywhere moisture builds fast. The dark chocolate tone works in contemporary schemes and country-style spaces alike.

Installation and heating

Glue this sheet directly to a clean, level subfloor. It suits underfloor heating systems, so you can pair it with warm feet on cold mornings. Moisture beneath the floor won’t warp it.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away and sweep or vacuum regularly. A damp mop keeps it clean without soaking the seams. The finish resists staining and the PVC surface won’t absorb odours.

Gerflor Taralay Impression is the aesthetic sibling to Tarasafe, offering similar style with a standard slip rating if you need a softer feel in lower-traffic areas.

The 10-year warranty covers domestic and light commercial use, giving you peace of mind on a smart, safe investment.
