How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. View Full Specs

Kingfisher is a medium blue with hints of green, a calm and professional colour for open-plan offices, retail environments and busy commercial spaces. The plain weave keeps the look clean and contemporary, whilst the dense pile stands up to foot traffic and rolling chairs without showing wear.

Supacord tiles are made from a polyamide and polypropylene blend with recycled polyester, designed to take daily heavy use. They resist stains and spills, and dirt sits on the surface rather than sinking in. A bitumen backing keeps them firmly in place on the subfloor.

Where it works

These tiles suit open-plan offices, meeting rooms, call centres, retail environments and corridors. Carpet Tiles like Supacord are ideal where flexibility and quick replacement matter more than seamless joins. A colour this versatile works with modern and traditional schemes alike.

Installation

Tiles lay straight onto a dry, level subfloor using the bitumen backing. No adhesive, glue or specialised tools needed. If your space has underfloor heating, Supacord is compatible.

Looking after it

Vacuum regularly to keep the pile fresh and bright. Spills wipe clean and stains lift with a standard carpet cleaner. Heckmondwike backs Supacord with a 15-year commercial warranty, reflecting the tile’s durability in heavy-footfall settings. Individual worn tiles can be lifted and replaced without disturbing the rest of the floor.
