How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Historic Oak brings genuine oak character to any room in your home without the maintenance headaches of real wood. The embossed surface catches the light like genuine grain, whilst the warm natural tones work equally well in period homes or modern spaces. Wide planks and bevelled edges give it presence on the floor.

This is AC5-rated laminate, tough enough for busy kitchens, hallways and utility rooms. It sits comfortably in family bathrooms too, thanks to its water-resistant core. The 10mm thickness and HDF backing give it stability underfoot, and it works with underfloor heating systems if you need extra warmth.

Where it works

Historic Oak suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, cloakrooms, offices and utility spaces. It handles the demands of everyday family life and can cope with light commercial settings if needed.

Installation

Click together installation makes fitting straightforward, whether you’re laying it over standard subfloors or preparing for underfloor heating. You’ll need underlay underneath to cushion the floor and help with thermal performance. Kronospan Atlantic 10mm planks lock easily without glue, keeping installation time and mess to a minimum.

Looking after it

Wipe up spills promptly and vacuum or sweep regularly to keep grit from scratching the surface. Damp-mop with a laminate cleaner where needed, but avoid standing water. The 30-year warranty backs the manufacturing quality, giving you confidence in your investment.

Kronospan Laminate Flooring ranges offer real-wood aesthetics with laminate practicality. Historic Oak delivers both in one.
