How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. You get a real-wood appearance without the upkeep or water damage worries, plus the safety comes built in.

This Polyflor sheet vinyl flooring is rated R10 for slip resistance, which means it holds its grip even when wet. Kitchens with spills, bathrooms with splash, office spaces with foot traffic and commercial areas all suit it. The 2mm thickness and 0.7mm wear layer take daily wear and stay looking good. Installation is straightforward glue down, and you won’t need underlay or special heating prep.

The PVC backing is tough and the material is fully waterproof, so spills and splashes don’t seep through. Water sits on top; you wipe and move on. Bathrooms and WCs handle moisture without fuss, and even commercial kitchens where floor washing is routine will take it in stride.

Care is simple. Sweep or vacuum regularly to lift dust and debris, then mop with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that can dull the finish. The 10-year commercial warranty backs the product, so you’re covered against wear-through and faults.

Sheet Vinyl Flooring like Nero Oak works across busy homes and commercial spaces alike. It’s a dark, practical choice that keeps safety first without sacrificing style.

Dark oak wood effect sheet vinyl with R10 slip resistance and waterproof protection, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces.
