How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Rich Perisian Loom is a light grey patterned luxury vinyl sheet that brings understated elegance to any room. The subtle Persian-inspired design adds visual warmth without dominating the space, making it a flexible choice for modern homes and commercial settings. You get a real vinyl look with genuine practicality, thanks to waterproof construction that handles spills and moisture.

The 3.5mm cushioned vinyl sits on a PVC backing and lays loose to your subfloor, so installation is straightforward and you can fit underfloor heating beneath it without issue. Sound insulation of 19dB keeps things quieter underfoot, whilst the R10 anti-slip rating gives you grip even in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. With a 0.35mm wear layer and use classification 23 and 32, this sheet stands up to household traffic and light commercial wear.

Where it works

Bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms and hallways all suit this sheet. It’s equally at home in WCs and light commercial spaces like offices and reception areas. The waterproof surface makes it ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, whilst the visual restraint of the pattern works in any décor.

Installation

Loose lay installation means you simply unroll and position the sheet to your subfloor, no adhesive needed. This method is compatible with underfloor heating systems, so you can have warmth underfoot without fuss. The flexible vinyl adapts to slight subfloor variations.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth and dry the surface. For deeper cleaning, a mop and mild detergent works well. The waterproof backing and sealed surface resist stains, so regular upkeep is minimal. Polyflor Architex comes with a 20-year warranty against manufacturing defects, giving you long-term peace of mind.
