How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Vittoria Terrazzo brings the sophisticated look of real terrazzo into your home without the cost or maintenance. This light grey sheet vinyl features a fine speckled effect that sits between modern minimalism and classic elegance. The result is a floor that suits contemporary kitchens, period bathrooms, sleek living rooms and busy hallways with equal ease.

The cushioned vinyl backing absorbs impact underfoot, making it softer to walk on than standard vinyl. This layer also deadens sound, with 19dB of insulation helping to reduce foot traffic noise. It’s a real comfort gain in kitchens and living spaces, especially over hard concrete or timber subfloors.

Polyflor Architex is a range built for real homes. Vittoria Terrazzo is fully waterproof, so it handles kitchen spills, bathroom steam and wet-room splashes without swelling or warping. The R10 slip rating keeps it safe underfoot when wet, a key safety feature in bathrooms and WCs.

Where it works

This sheet vinyl suits kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and cloakrooms. It’s equally at home in light commercial settings. Cushioned vinyl flooring like this one works well in busy households where comfort and noise control matter as much as looks.

Installation and heating

Vittoria Terrazzo uses loose-lay installation, so fitting is straightforward and non-permanent. It’s compatible with underfloor heating systems, so you can add radiant warmth without fuss. A simple weighted perimeter or light adhesive holds it in place.

Looking after it

Maintenance is minimal. Sweep or vacuum weekly to lift grit, then wipe with a damp mop using pH-neutral cleaner. Spills wipe clean instantly. The waterproof surface never needs sealing. Polyflor backs the product with a 20-year warranty against wear and manufacturing defects, giving you real peace of mind.
