How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Linen Air 8635 is a light grey vinyl sheet with a soft speckled finish. It looks understated and clean, fitting easily into modern kitchens, bathrooms and commercial settings. The colour sits between cool grey and warm beige, reading neutral in most light. You get a waterproof, slip-resistant floor that needs no upkeep beyond a quick wipe, with none of the maintenance that comes with natural materials.

Specifications

Thickness: 2mm
Roll width: 2m
Roll length: 20m
Material: PVC with PVC backing
Anti-slip rating: R10
Sound insulation: 4dB
LRV: 62

The sheet comes in 20m rolls at 2m width. At 2mm thick, it sits between lightweight and mid-weight vinyl. The R10 anti-slip rating keeps it safe underfoot, even when wet. No underlay is required, and no underfloor heating compatibility.

Where it works

Bathrooms, kitchens, WCs and commercial spaces all suit Linen Air 8635. Its waterproof face and tough anti-slip backing handle heavy foot traffic and spills without fuss. It’s classified for commercial use up to class 43, meaning it copes with busy retail, hospitality and office environments. Light grey holds dirt less visibly than white, yet stays brighter underfoot than darker tones.

Installation

Glue down to a clean, level subfloor. No underlay needed. The sheet vinyl bonds directly, so prep work must be thorough. Not suitable for underfloor heating systems.

Looking after it

Wipe spills at once and sweep regularly. Damp-mop with warm water and mild detergent. The waterproof finish resists staining and pooling. Polyflor Palettone vinyl lasts well in kitchens and bathrooms where moisture is constant. Backed by a 10-year commercial warranty, Polyflor Palettone products are built for long service in demanding rooms.
