How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Where it works

Kitchens and bathrooms suit it best. Utility rooms, downstairs WCs, hallways with foot traffic, and small commercial spaces all perform well. You don’t need underlay, and no underfloor heating compatibility issues to worry about. The glue-down installation sits flat and stable, which suits commercial applications where movement isn’t an option.

Installation

Glue down to a clean, dry, level subfloor. Professional fitting is best for seams and a neat finish, but the method is straightforward. No underlay needed.

Looking after it

Wipe spills straight away and sweep or vacuum regularly. For deeper cleans, use a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner and dry thoroughly. It’s designed to hold up to scrubbing, so don’t be shy. Polyflor Quicklay carries a 10-year commercial warranty, giving you real peace of mind on durability and performance.
