How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Monsoon 6248 is a light to medium grey vinyl with a subtle speckled finish. It reads clean and modern, and the muted tone works in any space without drawing focus. It’s the kind of floor that sits quietly in the background, letting your décor take the lead.

As a sheet vinyl, it’s completely waterproof. Spills, steam and soaked boots don’t phase it. That’s why kitchens, bathrooms and WCs reach for it, and why Commercial Vinyl Flooring in busy cafes and care homes picks it too. It wipes clean in seconds and needs no sealing or sanding.

The R11 anti-slip rating keeps your footing steady when floors are wet, which matters in food prep areas and shower rooms. At 2.2mm thick, it balances underfoot comfort with practical durability. Sound insulation of 10dB takes the edge off footfall and dropped items.

Installation

Monsoon 6248 is a glue-down sheet vinyl. It doesn’t need underlay or underfloor heating compatibility, so you can fit it to most prepared subfloors. Lay it straight onto a smooth, clean and dry base.

Looking after it

Wipe spills as they happen with a damp cloth. For routine cleaning, sweep or vacuum, then mop with warm water and a neutral cleaner. The waterproof surface resists stains and marks. Avoid solvents and abrasive pads.

Monsoon 6248 carries a 10-year commercial warranty, so it’s backed for the long run.
